Please read Exodus, chapters 6 to 11.
Exodus 6:1 “Then the Lord said to Moses ‘Now (not your time, but My time) now you will see what I will do to Pharaoh (he does not know Me, but) because of My mighty hand he will let them go; because of My mighty hand he will drive them out of his country.”
‘My mighty hand’. Not the hand of Moses or Aaron, in that situation proven to be useless. Day after day, in all nature around me, I see the mighty hand of God at work. Many people say; ‘There is no God’. Well, if there is no God, there is no Devil. And those people are left to explain all the evil and wickedness amongst humanity. And then they must explain why and how so many did escape into the joyful freedom of walking with God. I can tell you about the mighty hand of God working in my life.
Our six chapters today show us the mighty hand of God at work on behalf of the slaves. Nine dreadful calamities came down on Pharaoh and his people. None of those plagues ever touched the Israelites. And we see the stubborn sinfulness of Pharaoh. As well, we see the slaves still sweating because of their forceful taskmasters. Defeated? Grumbling? Hopeful? Confident? They must have seen the rampage over the land of Egypt. And we come to a surprising account in chapter 11.
It would take time and trouble. While Egypt and its population were suffering horrendously, while the Israelites still were making bricks and waiting, God had His plan in process. There never was and there never will be any thing to stop Him. As it was in those days, so it is in our days. While in weak, sinful and failing bodies His children are here in this world, He knows the distinction between them and those who do not belong to Him. Bible Christians wait in joyful expectation to be set free from this body and go to be with their Lord, and those who reject the God of the Bible will go to wailing and gnashing of teeth, eternal Hell. God makes the distinction. Not one religion will bring one sinner to God. I will mention it again. For all human beings the answer is in the Bible. The Gospel of John, chapter three, verses 16 and 17. You must be born again! By faith in what God is saying you must be born again, be born of God! The decision is yours. Make that decision today!
Exodus 11:1,2,3, “Now the Lord had said to Moses ‘I will bring one more plague on Pharaoh and on Egypt. After that he will let you go from here, and when he does, he will drive you out completely. Tell the people, that men and women alike, are to ask their neighbours for articles of silver and gold. The Lord made the Egyptians favorably disposed toward the people, and Moses himself was highly regarded in Egypt by Pharaoh’s officials and by the people.” The Israelites did have their wages paid in full.
